After building my own business for the last five years, my blog-management company was acquired this summer by a digital media startup. Now I’m in-house at Taylor Media as Executive Editor, building an editorial team. It’s a fun and challenging ride already!
While several members of my Socialexis team have joined us for this transition, we’re looking to fill about a dozen other positions, many of which are editorial. This is an awesome opportunity for anyone who wants to help an already successful startup continue to grow and learn about the world of digital media.
I’d love to see some readers of this blog apply!
Before we launch into the job descriptions and how to apply, here’s some quick info about the company.
Taylor Media is a digital media startup based in beautiful and walkable St. Petersburg, Fla. We run a number of web properties, the biggest of which is The Penny Hoarder, a blog about weird ways to earn and save money that sees about 7 million monthly pageviews. Our goal is to provide valuable, relevant information and ideas that helps readers put more money in the bank.
We’re bootstrapped and profitable, have a small team, and promote a fun, startup culture that offers our employees room to learn and grow.
Here’s a list of our open jobs!
These are all full-time positions in our St. Petersburg office, and you’d work directly with me. Have a look and apply through the link provided if you see a position that’s a good fit. (No need to email me as well; if you mention in the application that you heard about the job through this blog, I’ll see that.)

Social Media Manager: At least four years of experience, eager to develop and execute our social media strategy across a variety of channels, has experience managing a Facebook page with 1 million fans, will oversee our social media team. (A lot of my readers are early-career social media strategists, but we’re really looking for someone with experience developing and executing a strategy for a large brand or personality.)
Pinterest Specialist: Dream job for a Pinterest fanatic, must have experience growing a large (tens of thousands of followers) Pinterest channel. While we’d prefer to have this person in our St. Pete office, we’ll consider making it a remote position for the right applicant.
Visual Editor & Photographer: Will create and optimize images to accompany all blog posts and social media shares, needs both photography / photo editing skills and a growth-hacker mentality. We’re open to either a recent grad or someone with more experience.
PR Coordinator: At least two years of experience, will be responsible for press and guest post outreach, as well as responding to press inquiries and capitalizing on other opportunities.
Outside of editorial, we’re also hiring for…

Hope to hear from you!
But most of us who have been waiting for such opportunity, live in a different country. Is there a way we can be of relevance?
This is s grest opportunity. However, I am neither a university student or grad. I fo however, possess lengthy years of experience in social media management and audience growth. Nevertheless, All categories are very familiar areas.
Any chance for remote options for any of the editorial/blogging positions?
Hey! Nope, we’re only hiring in-house in St. Petersburg… must be based there.
