Writers' Roundup: February 26
February 26, 2010
Big week here — I finished my manuscript! Thanks to all of you who left notes of encouragement. Keep your eye on this blog for my next steps.
For now, links!
- The Guardian asks writers about their rules for writing fiction (but it applies to nonfiction, too). Some gems and some laughs.
- On that same note, literary agent Chip MacGregor offers some advice for working with critique groups. “Nearly every writer benefits from having crit partners,” he writes.
- From a blog that’s new in my RSS feed, Zen & The Art of Peacekeeping, travel memoirist Marianne explains how she got her agent.
Happy weekend!
Alexis, thanks so for the mention!
Congrats on the finished manuscript! That’s awesome!
Thanks for sharing these great links. They are right on target with what I need…(everything!)

HEY! Thanks for the shout out Alexis. I am dying to know…have you? Have you? Have you started querying. Drop me a note via email this weekend and let me know if you’ve hit that SEND button.
Still looking forward to your release. I’m happy to give it a review. I read Writing like a journalist will make you a better blogger. Great link. Get right to the point to hook the viewer. Blogs are generally short and writers need to hook people right away or risk losing them coming back.
